Portrait of a Night Performance Artist 2006

These portraits of environmental artist Wendy Hardie were captured in 2006, ahead of Scotland on Sunday’s magazine photoshoot for a feature on her work, on location amongst one of her temporary night performance installations of glass tank condensing chambers, fluorescent lights and growing cabbages and roses. Since the mid 1990’s the artist had worked phenomenologically with her body, light, fabric and sculpted and found objects in site specific landscapes, commencing with the farm she grew up on, mapping and articulating the architecture of energy and space, psychology, memory, physical connection and residue – exploring landscapes, trees, earth and humans as intimate, interchangeable vessels and layered metaphorical structures.
