From the Artist’s series ‘Nature Nurture’ 1998 – 2002, a group of perfmormative interventions and temporary installations, sculptures and photographic records created across the Scottish tenant farm the artist grew up on, located on the edge of the heavy, rich, alluvial clay lined River Tay in the Carse of Gowrie, Perthshire. Three generations of her immediate paternal family farmed on this land and her extended family farmed similarly close by. These three chestnut trees were planted by her grandfather and twin brothers on a field boundary close to the family farmhouse, early in the C20th.
